A good evening - sunny and warm with a diminishing westerly breeze, though the air pressure was a little higher than ideal. Half (14 out of 28) of those who had ridden an earlier 2010 WTT event improved upon their previous season series best, while nine improved upon their previous 15km database best. The most improved, by a long shot, in both of these regards, was Lili Caron. Lili had been riding a hybrid bicycle until tonight, and tonight, Lisa Hébert brought along her old racing bike for Lili to try. Lili was ecstatic at how much quicker she went and warned that she was quickly closing in on Celia, any way you look at it (look at the performance ratio column)! - Yup no more hybrid for Lili, and wait until she gets the bike adjusted to her height, adds some aero bars and gets used to the new riding position! Celia is going to have to take this time trial business more seriously now and do some real training! There were also database improvements of more than 10%, without the excuse of new bike types, for Véronique Etienne-Lauzon and Josée Bertrand, and smaller improvements by Melissa Lansing, Barb Gauthier, Jane Yardley, Renée Robert, Josée Lamirande and Sarah MacDonald-Murray. Also, congratulations to Mary Ajersch for setting yet another 15km best in the 70-79 year old category! Mary seems to be recuperating well from her concussion and broken bones of 2009, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if, even now in the VEM category, she regains some of her earlier fast times, but regardless she is a great inspiration to us all and a whole lot of fun!

(Note that I'd gladly type in the results each time, getting the results up within a few of hours of the event, as I did for the WTT series for the decade beginning in 1998, and for the OTT series from 1999-2002 and again in 2006. Regardless, I will continue to donate this statistical time trial result service to you, even though doing so has, surprisingly, resulted in my EXPULSION from the OBC ! I guess I must at least thank the OBC executive for taking on the grunt work and leaving me to do just the more interesting side of my result service, but I do want to make it absolutely clear that I would gladly help the OBC Board input the results, lest complaints about me just lazily sucking in the results surface! The choice is theirs. If they want the help, I'm here and will do it - even if I remain expelled! Such is my level of dedication to public service and disinterest in private politics.)
